Seahawks Roll Past New College, 7-0, in Sun Conference Clash

Five second-half goals, including three in a span of less than seven minutes, powered Keiser to a 7-0 Sun Conference win over New College of Florida on Wednesday.

Keiser controlled the match from the start, and Blanca Bachi broke through in the 26th minute for the game's first goal, her fourth of the season. Emilia Nilsson doubled the lead in the 36th minute for her second of the year, sending Keiser into the break up 2-0 after a 16-0 shot advantage in the opening half.

The second half turned into a rout. A New College own goal in the 49th minute, set up by Bachi made it 3-0. Haley Miller scored 80 seconds later off a Ruby Vernon assist, her fourth goal of the year, and Avril Amil Ruiz made it 5-0 in the 55th minute with assists from Vernon and Ainara Esain for her sixth of the season.

After a quieter stretch, Keiser scored twice more late. Ida Palm netted her first goal of the season in the 81st minute of a corner kick by Victoria Clark, and Marta Filipe followed 100 seconds later with a finish off a Vera Crone assist to complete the 7-0 final.

Keiser outshot New College 36-0, with 22 shots on goal and a 10-0 edge in corner kicks. Mio Tanaka played 61 minutes in goal and Audrey Bechard the final 29, and the pair combined for the shutout without needing to make a save. Avaya Wright played 74 minutes for New College, allowing five goals and making 12 saves before Ana Armond Generoso came on and made three saves while allowing two.

New College was called for seven fouls to Keiser's five and picked up two yellow cards, to Chole Nickell (74:54) and Caroline Langsam (78:46). No Keiser players were carded.
