2025-26 Keiser Athletics Moment of the Year Tournament - Quarterfinals

Seahawks Nation, we continue with the 2025-26 Keiser Athletics Moment of the Year Tournament with the quarterfinals.
 
We started with 12 and are now down to eight.

 

The opening round saw Ryan Rundle's record-setting performance power men's lacrosse to the quarters while the nine treys by Aly Avrach moved women's basketball out of the opening round. Also, winning were Macy Schaaf's walk off and Luiza Bersi's record-setting performance in the 200 Fly.
 
 
2025-26 Moment of the Year - Quarterfinals Bracket

This week, there are four matchups in the quarterfinals.

No. 1 seed - Women's Soccer - Preibe Save and Celebration
 

The Keiser Seahawks claimed their third NAIA National Championship on December 8, claiming the Red Banner on penalty kicks, 3-2, over No. 9 Cumberlands (Ky.). After going through two overtimes without a winner (1-1), the national title came down to penalty kicks, where a save from Madison Priebe denied the Patriots and secured the win for KU.


No. 8 seed - Men's Lacrosse - Rundle breaks program record
 
 
NAIA All-American Ryan Rundle became the program's all-time leader in points scored during the team's 25-6 win over No. 5 Reinhardt on Senior Day. The senior scored his seventh goal of the game to cap off a 10-point outing as the Seahawks routed the Eagles.

No. 4 seed - Men's Soccer - Raul Cedillo Golden Goal
 
 
It took overtime, but Keiser claimed tis fourth Sun Conference Tournament crown since 2019 with a golden goal by Raul Cedillo. Just six minutes into the extra period, Sergio Padín-Rey sent a long ball down the right side to Mikael Baisotti, who crossed it into the middle for Cedillo as the junior forward finished with composure, slipping the ball past the keeper for the golden goal and earning Tournament MVP honors.

 

No. 12 seed - Women's Basketball - Avrach sets program record
 
 
Aly Avrach etched her name into the Keiser record books on January 3, draining a school-record nine three-pointers en route to a career-high 28 points in the Seahawks' commanding 85-27 victory over New College of Florida. She connected on 9-of-13 from beyond the arc and remarkably outscored the entire New College team by herself, finishing with 28 points to the Mighty Banyans collective 27. She earned Sun Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors for her performance.

No. 3 seed - Men's Swimming - Noel wins 4th straight
 
 
National Champion and NAIA All-American Noel De Geus became the first swimmer since 1973 tow in four straight national championships in a single event, claiming this year's title in the 100m Breast with a time of 52.18. His performance was named the NAIA Swim of the Meet. The senior swimmer finished this year's National Championship with five national titles and earned NAIA All-America honors in six events.

 
No. 7 seed - Women's Swimming - Bersi wins 200 Fly
 
 
Luiza Bersi, the NAIA Swimmer of the Year, captured seven NAIA National Championships and earned eight All-America honors at this year's NAIA Tournament. The second-year Seahawk's performance was highlighted by her school-record time in the 200 Fly (2:00.91), finishing just .02 off the NAIA mark.

No. 2 seed - Women's Tennis - Wins 1st Red Banner
 
 
Up 3-1 on No. 2 Lindsey Wilson in the NAIA National Championships, No. 17 Alexandra Melnikova sealed the national championship on court two, taking down No. 51 Martina Cortal 6-3, 6-1. After falling behind, 1-0, Keiser rallied in singles with wins on the top four flights to claim the program's first national title since 2003.

 
No. 6 seed - Softball - Schaaf Walkoff Win
 
 

Making the program's second appearance in the NAIA National Tournament, senior Macy Schaaf made Seahawk's history driving in the game-winning run versus Benedictine (Kan.) in extra innings. With runners on second and third and no outs, Schaff singled to center field to score teammate Faith Campos and give Keiser its first win in NAIA postseason play, 4-3.
