No. 2 Men’s Lacrosse Downs the No. 7 Seed Indiana Tech to Punch Ticket to National Semifinals

The top-seeded Seahawks (13–0) powered past Indiana Tech (12–9) with a decisive 26–13 victory in the national quarterfinal at the Jack Allen Complex on Tuesday, remaining unbeaten behind a high-powered offense highlighted by four extra-man goals.

The game commenced with the Seahawks taking early control as Zach Crotwell scored the first goal at 14:40, followed swiftly by Chris Rayburn's goal at 14:34, giving the team a 2-0 lead. Indiana Tech responded with consecutive goals from Cam Fewster and Kinley Hynote, leveling the score at 2-2. The Seahawks regained momentum with AJ Badik finding the net at 10:44, assisted by Marek Albiero, and Kegan Hufford scoring at 7:08 with an assist from Kyle Davis, pushing the lead to 4-2. Indiana Tech capitalized on an extra-man opportunity, scoring twice to tie it at 4-4. However, the Seahawks surged ahead as Ryan Stowell scored at 2:38, followed by another goal from Badik and a late-quarter goal by Albiero at 0:24, closing the quarter with a 7-4 advantage.

In the second quarter, the Seahawks showcased a strong offensive performance, beginning with Badik's goal at 13:38, assisted by Hufford. This was followed by Cole Nappi's goal at 11:52, assisted by Ryan Rundle, pushing the team ahead. Despite Indiana Tech's man-up goal by Ryan Morgan at 10:35, the Seahawks responded swiftly with a goal from JP Prather at 9:47, and Davis added to the lead at 8:51 with an assist from Rundle.

Indiana Tech attempted a comeback with a goal by Fewster at 8:17 and another by Jake Deacon at 7:12, but the Seahawks maintained momentum. Albiero scored at 6:02, again assisted by Hufford, and Stowell and Rundle each found the net late in the quarter to extend the lead. Despite a late goal by Indiana Tech's Deacon, the Seahawks finished the quarter leading 15-9.

The Seahawks surged ahead in the third quarter with a strong start, as Albiero scored at 13:59 with an assist from Rundle, followed promptly by a goal from Davis just 10 seconds later, also assisted by Rundle. Despite a response from Indiana Tech's Fewster, Davis capitalized on a man-up opportunity with another goal at 10:27, assisted by Albiero, maintaining their lead.

Midway through the quarter, the Seahawks extended their advantage when Rundle found the net at 4:03, assisted by Stowell. Indiana Tech managed to narrow the gap with goals by Deacon and Morgan. However, the Seahawks closed the quarter decisively as Prather scored with just nine seconds remaining, assisted by Badik. The game concluded with the Seahawks victorious, 20-12.

In a decisive fourth quarter, the Seahawks pulled away with a flurry of goals to secure the victory. Stowell kicked off the scoring with a goal at 11:16, assisted by Hufford, which set the stage for Davis to strike twice, including a goal at 10:03 assisted by Albiero. Braeden Niemy added another goal shortly after, assisted by Donovan Barnshaw, further extending the Seahawks' lead.

The Seahawks capitalized on a man-up opportunity when Hufford scored with 2:39 remaining, again assisted by Albiero. Prather added a final man-up goal with 30 seconds left in the game. The Seahawks' defense held strong, limiting Indiana Tech to a single goal in the quarter. The game concluded with the Seahawks achieving a 26-13 victory.
