No. 5 Women's Lacrosse Ready for Sun Conference Tournament

No. 5 Keiser women's lacrosse set to host Sun Conference Tournament at the Multi-Purpose Field in West Palm Beach, Fla. The Seahawks received a first-round bye as the second seed and will play on Friday at 3:00 p.m.

Tournament History
 
  • Keiser is 9-4 in the conference postseason
  • In the Sun Conference Tournament, the Seahawks are 2-3 all-time
  • KU holds a 7-1 combined record in the semifinals and is 2-5 in the championship game
  • Last season, the Seahawks fell in the semifinal to No. 10 Life, 15-17
  • The Sun Conference Tournament has been held once prior in West Palm Beach in 2024

  • Keiser heads into the postseason with a 13-3 overall record
  • On Wednesday, Keiser received nine SUN All-Conference honors
  • Lizzie Belton, MacKenzie Gibaud, Kate Griffin, and Milena Izturiz were all named to the first team
  • On the second team was Raelyn Boutwell, Maya Francisco, Tess Geiger, Jia Schweigert, and Isabelle Vrensen
  • Geiger also took home SUN Freshman of the Year honors, the second player in program history to earn conference freshman of the year honors
  • The Seahawks are coming off a 25-5 win over St. Thomas to close out the regular season
  • Gibaud tallied three goals and added a career-high five assists 
  • She leads the Seahawks into the postseason in points, goals, and assists
  • Schweigert, Vrensen, and Geiger recently joined Gibaud with 30 or more goals this season
  • On the defensive end of the field, Griffin led the way in the circle against the Bobcats with nine draw controls
  • She is sitting at 98 on the year and ranks fourth in the NAIA in the category
  • Belton, Francisco, and Isturiz all tallied three caused turnovers in the game
  • Belton ranks sixth in the NAIA in caused turnovers with 33
  • Boutwell has logged the most minutes in net this season with starts in 13 games
  • Samantha Crowther and Emily Pond have both been receiving playing time in relief 
  • Keiser will play the winner of Ave Maria and New College of Florida
  • Earlier this season the Seahawks defeated the Gyrenes 15-11
  • Keiser also has an 18-3 win over the Mighty Banyans
