No. 5 Keiser women's lacrosse delivered a dominant performance on the road in its final away contest of the season, racing out to an 11-2 first-quarter lead and never looking back.
Keiser wasted no time establishing control on the bayfront.
Emily McCall won the opening draw and the Seahawks struck just 53 seconds in,
Isabelle Vrensen finishing for the first goal of the game. New College answered quickly, winning the ensuing draw and earning a free position opportunity. Bayley Dow converted it at the 13:05 mark to level the score at one apiece.
Lizzie Belton caused a turnover on the next possession and
Jia Schweigert put Keiser back in front with an assist from
MacKenzie Gibaud at 11:30. Gibaud found the cage at 10:03 off a Schweigert feed, and before New College could regroup,
Emily Ferris added another at 9:46 with
Tess Geiger assisting to make it 4-1.
Milena Isturiz then turned a ground ball into a goal less than a minute later to push the lead to four.
Reese Lynch scored at 7:04, then
Baylee Walker added another off a
Lucy Single ground ball at 6:18 to make it 7-1. New College got their second goal of the quarter when Ashley Palmer scored at 5:30 to make it 7-2. Keiser responded immediately as
Tess Geiger scored at 5:06 and the Seahawks reeled off three more in the final two and a half minutes.
The Seahawks came out of the break just as relentless as Vrensen struck at 14:42 off a Isturiz assist to push the margin to ten. Vrensen found the cage again at 8:38 for her second goal of the quarter and third of the game. Lynch attacked again, scoring twice in the final three minutes of the half, both assisted by Gibaud, to extend the Seahawks' lead to 15-2 at the half.
The third quarter was played mostly through the midfield with no goals scored for a majority of the quarter. The period's lone goal came at the final buzzer as Geiger finished off another Gibaud pass with the clock at 00:00 to make it a 14-goal Seahawks advantage.
The final fifteen minutes played out with Keiser firmly in control. Ferris scored three minutes into the quarter as time continued to wind down.
Mikayla Madden punched in the 18th goal at 7:37, assisted by Schweigert, to close out the Keiser scoring. The Mighty Banyans scored the final goal on a free position shot with 3:29 remaining but the score would end 18-3 in favor of KU.
