When asked about today's result, Head Coach
Daniel Finn had this to say: "Wow. gutsy effort across the board to get that one. Really proud of the ladies and how they kept fighting point by point across all courts regardless of the score until it was over today. Coach Ali (Borhani) was huge today for the girls. He was there today at some pivotal points. He is one of the best in the business with mid-match adjustments and coaching, and it's a huge boost to have him there. Additionally, Violet stepped into a leadership role and pushed the girls through from the bench when she had to come out of the lineup today. It can't be stated enough that today was a team effort."
On what he learned from his team today, "This team has guts and is willing to fight. Period. To come from behind against the No. 1 team in D2, in their house, says a lot about this group and what they are capable of. First off, Barry isn't an easy place to play, and honestly, they do a good job of sucking the energy out of the place when they play you. Early on they did a great job of not allowing us to get any momentum or energy, and it made things tough, and to have to do it without Violet today is a tall feat, and the girls really stepped up and showed they are willing to fight for one another and the brand. I would love to highlight one girl, but like I said, it was a team effort from top to bottom. Matches like this are ones you put in the belt, and use in the future."
The Seahawks will have another ranked opponent in Division II ahead of them on Saturday when they travel to play No. 47 Saint Leo. First serve from the Saint Leo Tennis Courts is set for 1:00 p.m.
