MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – No. 11 Keiser University made a statement in South Florida on Saturday, outscoring Florida Memorial 29-0 across a dominant doubleheader sweep at Walt Frazier Park. The Seahawks combined for 33 hits, held the Lions to just two hits across both games, and capitalized on ten Florida Memorial errors to improve to 34-2 overall while remaining undefeated in conference play at 12-0.
Presley Wright set the tone in the opener, delivering a complete-game shutout with just one hit allowed, one walk, and four strikeouts over five dominant innings. Florida Memorial committed six errors in Game One alone, and Keiser took advantage at every turn, scoring in four of five frames on the way to a 16-0 run-rule victory. Olivia Shoemaker led the charge with a 3-for-3 effort and two RBI, while Genesis Iglesias went 2-for-2 with a solo home run, two RBI, and three runs scored. Alexalys Torres and Trinity Rohrer each went 3-for-4 and 2-for-3 respectively, both driving in two runs, and Abby Arend and Kylie White each added a pair of RBI off the bench to keep the lineup firing on all cylinders.
The Seahawks carried their momentum into the nightcap and never let up. Olivia Salerno was sharp in the circle to start Game Two, retiring nine of the first twelve batters she faced and allowing just one hit over three innings while striking out four. Wright came back on in relief in the fourth and was equally efficient, retiring all six batters she faced with three more strikeouts to close out the combined shutout. Florida Memorial managed just a single hit in Game Two and committed four more errors — a recipe for disaster against a Keiser offense that punishes every mistake.
The Seahawks saved their biggest punch for the third inning of the nightcap, sending the lineup around and plating nine runs in a breathtaking frame. Jordan Brantley delivered the signature blow of the doubleheader — a grand slam to left center that cleared the bases and put the game firmly out of reach. Brantley finished the game 2-for-4 with five RBI and the big fly. Faith Campos went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a double, while Kaci Kidd and Genesis Iglesias each chipped in a pair of hits and two RBI. Lanie Macicek went 3-for-3 with two runs scored, and Olivia Shoemaker continued her big day by adding a 2-for-2 effort with an RBI and a stolen base in the second game.
