Records: No. 6 Keiser (6-2), Culver-Stockton (2-6)
Location: Poulton Stadium - Canton, Mo.
Keiser wasted no time announcing its dominance on Sunday morning, scoring four goals in the opening quarter and never letting Culver-Stockton get within striking distance on the way to a commanding 20-3 road victory at Poulton Stadium.
After a couple of early Culver-Stockton miscues were cleaned up,
MacKenzie Gibaud gathered a loose ball and put Keiser on the board at the 12:22 mark for the game's opening goal. Back-to-back draws secured by Keiser led directly to
Emily McCall extending the lead just 49 seconds later, making it 2-0. Culver-Stockton finally converted a free position shot from close range at 8:54 to cut the deficit to 2-1. Keiser responded almost instantly as
Kate Griffin won the draw control off the restart and eventually got it back in the possession, spinning and finishing at 8:24 to push the lead back to two. Following another goal by the Wildcats, Keiser steadied itself through a
Jia Schweigert goal fed by
Emily McCall with under three minutes remaining to close the quarter with a 4-2 edge.
Schweigert made it 5-2 early after a Culver-Stockton turnover opened the door for her. Griffin won another draw off the restart and Keiser quickly organized in the attack, with
Isabelle Vrensen converting a Schweigert feed at 8:48 for a 6-2 lead. Griffin herself added a goal at 4:54 to push the lead to 7-2. Ferris added a pair of woman-down goals split by another McCall goal to push the Keiser lead up to 10-2 going into the half.
Gibaud found her second and third goals of the game less than five minutes into the third as the Seahawks reached a 10-goal advantage with 11:25 to play. Vrensen converted at 8:58 off a Gibaud assist before
Tess Geiger added a timely goal at 6:53, and with just 1:42 left in the third, Gibaud put her name in the box score a fourth time to close a dominant period with Keiser's advantage now 15-2.
After the Wildcats got their third goal on the board, McCall hit the back of the net again at 10:34 to restore the 13-goal margin at 16-3. Gibaud added her fifth of the day at 7:39 before Geiger added a pair of her own as the fourth quarter rolled on.
Malea Blackmore tallied the final goal of the game with 48 seconds left in the game, capping the performance at 20-3.
Keiser will finish their Midwest road trip on Tuesday, March 24, with a game against No. 7 Missouri Baptist. The opening draw control from Spartan Field is set for 8:00 p.m. CT
