The No. 2 Keiser Seahawks powered past No. 6 SCAD Savannah 18-9 on Saturday afternoon at the Multi Purpose Field in West Palm Beach, remaining unbeaten at 5-0 on the season and 4-0 in Appalachian Athletic Conference play. A crowd of 245 fans watched the Seahawks continue their dominant run, with AJ Badik, Ryan Rundle, and Max Standage headlining a complete team effort.
Keiser came out of the gates firing, outscoring SCAD 6-3 in the opening quarter. Kyle Davis and AJ Badik each found the net early, and Kegan Hufford added an unassisted tally with just two seconds remaining in the period to push the Seahawks' advantage to 6-3. SCAD's Jonathan O'Bryant Graves struck twice in the quarter, including a goal off a Travis Cheristin assist to open the scoring, while Mason Hickman added another off a Cheristin helper late in the period to keep the Bees within striking distance.
The second quarter saw both offenses explode for a combined ten goals. Keiser erupted for six, with Ryan Stowell scoring twice - including a man-up goal off a Ryan Rundle assist - while Rundle and JP Prather each added one of their own. SCAD battled back with four, Mason Hickman scoring twice in a two-minute stretch to give the Bees a brief 5-6 deficit, and Jonathan O'Bryant Graves converting on a man-up opportunity to knot things at 6-7 momentarily. But Keiser answered with a flurry to close the half, taking a commanding 12-7 advantage into the locker room.
Keiser's third-quarter dominance was fueled as much by the defense as the offense, with Standage single-handedly dismantling SCAD's transition game. The midfielder finished the afternoon with a game-high 13 ground balls while shattering the school record for caused turnovers (10). SCAD went scoreless in the quarter as Keiser poured it on, outscoring the Bees 4-0 to push the lead to 16-7 heading into the fourth. Rundle, Zach Crotwell, and Kegan Hufford all hit the back of the net in the period, with Rundle adding an unassisted man-up goal after a Mason Hickman slashing penalty to cap the Seahawks' third-quarter run.
With the outcome well in hand, both teams traded two goals apiece in the final frame. Mason Hickman scored twice for SCAD - including an opening man-up goal off a pair of Cole Nappi penalties - while AJ Badik and Marek Albiero closed out the scoring for Keiser to set the final at 18-9.
Goalkeeper Lucas Green was steady throughout, making eight saves in 60 minutes to earn the win. On the other end, SCAD's Keaton Melcher was tested early and often, turning in an impressive 18-save performance in a losing effort.
