Jaylen Lee poured in a game-high 39 points to lift No. 11 Keiser men's basketball past Oregon Tech in an overtime thriller that went down to the final seconds. The Seahawks outlasted the Owls 94-90, improving to 25-5 on the season and advancing to the second round of the NAIA National Tournament.

Oregon Tech came out of the gate swinging, with Colby Whicker knocking down a three-pointer on the game's very first possession to stake the Owls to an early 3-0 lead. The Seahawks answered quickly as Loghan Downie grabbed an offensive rebound and immediately cashed it in with a three of his own to tie the game at three just seconds later. Nadir Myers then gave Keiser its first lead with a mid-range jumper, and the Seahawks began establishing control with buckets from Camerin James and a steal-and-layup from Myers that pushed the advantage to 7-3. The two teams traded baskets through the middle portion of the half, with neither side able to open much daylight. Oregon Tech took a brief 18-16 lead on a Jared Sucher layup before Keiser responded with a Lee layup to tie it up, and the game ping-ponged back and forth. With the Owls within two, Keiser began to separate as Lee went to the line and converted both free throws to make it 26-18, then came right back with a jumper to push it to 28-18. Oregon Tech refused to fold, using threes from Grant Tull and a late Sucher triple to claw back within five at 37-32. But Keiser closed the half on a 14-5 run, with Jackson Slater drilling a three to send the Seahawks into the break ahead 46-37.

Oregon Tech came out firing at the start of the second half, rattling off four straight points to cut the deficit to five at 41-46. Keiser used a Slater trip to the line for three free throws and a James dunk to stretch the lead back to eight, and then Lee went to work. Over a roughly six-minute stretch spanning the 16-to-10 minute mark, Lee hit three layups and a three-pointer, scoring 11 consecutive points for Keiser during a sequence that had the Seahawks ahead by eight at 63-55. Oregon Tech would go down. The Owls clawed all the way back to tie the game at 63 with just over ten minutes remaining. The two teams then engaged in a back-and-forth stretch with five consecutive lead changes. Keiser would have the final chance during regulation but would be unable to convert from the free throw line, sending the game to overtime.

In the extra session, Oregon Tech jumped ahead 86-82 on a pair of layups. But Lee stepped up again converting a layup-and-one to make it 85-86, and after Nathan answered from the line to push the Owls back up three, James responded with a layup at the other end. The game went back and forth until Sucher gave Oregon Tech a 90-89 edge. Lee would go down to the other end and hit a layup then stole the ball on the ensuing possession and converted a fastbreak layup to go up 93-90. A final James free throw sealed the 94-90 victory for Keiser.

Keiser will play in the second round of the NAIA National Tournament tomorrow night in Fullerton, California against the winner of Georgia Gwinnett and Hope International. Tipoff from the Darling Pavilion is set for 6:00 p.m. PT
