The Keiser University wrestling team closed out the regular season Saturday night on the road in Miami Gardens, Fla., taking on St. Thomas University in the final dual of the year. The Seahawks opened the dual at 125 pounds and battled throughout the lineup, but ultimately fell to the Bobcats, 29–10. Despite the result, the night marked several historic milestones for the program, as Keiser finished the regular season with an 8–3 overall record and a 4–1 mark in conference duals, securing the first winning season in program history.
Keiser earned victories in six of the final nine bouts, including four bonus-point wins, highlighted by back-to-back pins at 184 and 197 pounds. Josiah Fernandez (133) sparked the Seahawks early with a hard-fought decision win, while Anthony Santos (141), Joaquin Tanabe (149), Phillip Antico (157), and Ronald Butler (174) each added key dual victories. Rocco D'Ascoli and Sam Libby delivered the exclamation point, recording consecutive falls late in the dual to cap the regular season on a strong note.
With the regular season complete, the Seahawks now turn their focus to the postseason, as they prepare for the AAC Conference Tournament, scheduled for February 20–21 and hosted by St. Thomas University in Miami Gardens, Fla.
