When asked about today's result, Head Coach
Daniel Finn had this to say: "Girls did a great job today. The first match of the tournament is always an uneasy one, and you have to deal with the nerves. Doubles today was great. We've worked a lot on doubles in the last couple of weeks, and they came out and executed. They set the tone for the rest of the match. In singles, Holy Cross got scrappy and tried to make it difficult, but the girls did a great job, especially with three freshmen playing their first collegiate matches. We talked a lot about being relentless and focusing on the points, not the score, and we're going to have to keep that mindset the rest of the way."
Grydnieva on the match: "I think we played really well today, and I loved the way that we came out in doubles. We didn't drop a single game. In singles, I was doing my best to play aggressive, and focus on my game, and that worked for me. Overall, I was just excited to play today."
The Seahawks will face No. 5 Tennessee Wesleyan in the ITA NAIA National Women's Team Indoor Semifinal on Saturday, February 7. First serve is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
