Keiser women's basketball improved to 17-6 overall and 9-4 in conference play with a convincing 67-45 victory over Webber International on Wednesday night at the Student Life Center.
The Seahawks built a 29-28 halftime advantage and pulled away in the second half, outscoring the Warriors 38-17 over the final two quarters. The Seahawks' defense was particularly stifling in the fourth quarter, limiting Webber to just four points while closing out the 22-point victory.
Aly Avrach led the Seahawks' balanced attack with a game-high 20 points on 7-of-17 shooting, including an impressive 6-of-16 from beyond the arc.
Caidyn Cannon and Avrie Schmidt each added 11 points. Cannon grabbed nine rebounds while going 7-of-8 from the free-throw line, and Schmidt also went 7-of-8 from the charity stripe while pulling down five rebounds. Satori Griffin contributed 12 points, connecting on 3-of-8 from three-point range and adding four rebounds.
Emelia O'Gilvie led the team on the glass with 12 rebounds while adding six points and two assists. Mahiro Oyama orchestrated the offense with a team-high six assists and two steals. Amalia Vamvakitis scored six points off the bench. Carolina de Domingo dished out four assistsin the 22-point victory.
Keiser shot 36.7% from the field and connected on 9-of-31 from three-point range while dominating at the free-throw line, converting 22-of-25 attempts (88%). The Seahawks forced 18 turnovers and converted them into 21 points.
