WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Keiser University softball team continued its extraordinary start to the 2026 season on Wednesday afternoon, sweeping the University of Fort Lauderdale in a dominant doubleheader at Alumni Field. With 5–2 and 8–0 victories, the Seahawks improved to 8–0, marking the best start in program history. Keiser controlled both games from start to finish, combining explosive offensive innings with elite pitching performances from veterans Mackenzie Masternak and Presley Wright.
In the opening game of the doubleheader, Keiser's lineup delivered timely production throughout the afternoon, highlighted by a multi‑extra‑base‑hit performance from Kaci Kidd, who tripled twice and scored once to ignite the Seahawks offensively.
Faith Campos continued her strong start to the year with two RBI, including a sacrifice fly that opened the scoring in the first inning, while Tessa DiPietra turned in one of the most impactful efforts of the day, going 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI, and a stolen base. Genesis Iglesias added an RBI double as part of Keiser's three-run fifth inning, and Mya Schaaf provided an important pinch-hit single that later came around to score.
In the circle, Mackenzie Masternak was dominant once again, tossing a complete game while allowing just two hits and no earned runs to move to 4–0 on the season.
The Seahawks carried that momentum into game two, where the offense erupted for a five‑run first inning and never looked back. Macy Schaaf paced the attack with a 2-for-4 performance that included an RBI, a stolen base, and two runs scored, while Kidd continued her outstanding day by delivering a pair of RBI doubles to help extend the Keiser lead. Abby Arend added a clutch pinch-hit RBI single, and both Sarah Phipps and Lanie Macicek drove in runs during the early surge.
Ava Stahl contributed a single and a stolen base, setting the table for multiple scoring opportunities.
On the mound, Presley Wright turned in one of the most efficient outings of the season, throwing a one-hit shutout on just 43 pitches, retiring every leadoff batter she faced and securing her third win of the year. The Seahawks' defense played error‑free behind her, closing out a decisive 8–0 victory to finish the sweep.
