Box Score Cece Worsham posted 10 kills and 14 digs, and Keiser fought through two extended sets, but the Seahawks fell to New College of Florida 23-25, 25-20, 14-25, 26-28 on Saturday afternoon at Bradenton Christian School.
Keiser (8-8, 4-3 SUN) saw its three-match winning streak end despite a late push in the fourth set. The Seahawks erased a 10-point deficit to tie it at 26-26 before the Mighty Banyans (13-3, 5-2) scored the final two points.
Keiser hit .084 on the day with 36 kills and 25 errors on 131 attempts, and the Seahawks served nine aces and finished with 64 digs and 10 blocks.
The Seahawks trailed 12-8 in the opener but fought back, cutting it to 14-13 and then 24-23 on a Paryss Betts ace before New College closed it out at 25-23.
Keiser answered in the second set, leading 8-5 and 15-11 and holding New College to a .000 attack percentage (eight kills, eight errors) on the way to a 25-20 win. Aubree Valcourt had kills at 16-12 and 23-19, and Addison Chapman put away the final point on a set from Mallory Dills.
New College took control of the third set after Keiser opened with a 2-0 lead. The Mighty Banyans led 15-11 when the Seahawks called timeout, then Soraya Nacero served five straight points to stretch the lead to 21-12 in a 25-14 win.
The fourth set was a back-and-forth battle. Down 9-8, Betts served six straight points to put Keiser ahead 14-9. Makenzi Bennett followed with back-to-back aces for a 17-10 lead, and Keiser still led 19-16 before New College tied it at 20-20. Bennett's kill put the Seahawks up 24-23, but the Mighty Banyans took a 25-24 lead. Keiser tied it at 25-25 and 26-26, on kills by Dills and Worsham, before Wiktoria Telecka and Madison Goin each put away a kill to end the match.
Worsham led the Seahawks with 10 kills, 14 digs and two aces. Valcourt added seven kills, and Bennett had six kills, 13 digs and two aces. Emma Friese chipped in four kills and two block assists. Dills ran the offense with 17 assists, Amie Molina had nine assists and two aces, and Betts added nine digs and four assists.
Telecka paced New College with 21 kills, a .425 attack percentage and 28 points, and the Mighty Banyans served 13 aces.
Keiser returns to the Student Life Center for its next SUN match, hosting Warner University at 2:00 PM.
