No. 11 Keiser men's basketball exploded for 61 second-half points to blow out New College of Florida, claiming a dominant 102-55 Sun Conference victory on Saturday afternoon at SCF. The win improved Keiser's record to 18-3 overall and 8-2 in conference play, while the Mighty Banyans dropped to 5-16 overall and 0-10 in the SUN.
Keiser was off and running in the first half, jumping out to a 16-3 lead in the first seven minutes. The Seahawks jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, taking a commanding 41-24 advantage into halftime. Cameron Baldwin led the first-half surge with 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting, while Camerin James added 8 points to help the Seahawks build their 17-point cushion.
The second half saw Keiser extend their dominance with more scoring while clamping down on defense. The Seahawks outscored New College 61-31 in the period, with their defense forcing 25 total turnovers for the game. Keiser's largest lead reached 50 points at 99-49 with 3:58 remaining when Mathew Shea converted a jumper following consecutive steals by Santiago Henriquez and Shea.
