WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Keiser University softball team opened the 2026 season in emphatic fashion on Friday afternoon, sweeping a doubleheader from No. 6 Grand View at Alumni Field. The Seahawks claimed a 5-3 victory in game one before completing the sweep with a 4-1 win in game two, marking the program's first wins over the nationally ranked Vikings in Keiser softball history.

In the opener, Keiser overcame an early deficit with timely hitting and a strong performance in the circle from Mackenzie Masternak. The junior worked through traffic throughout the afternoon, limiting damage and keeping the Seahawks within striking distance. Keiser's offense responded with a five-run output, capitalizing on scoring opportunities and defensive miscues to take control of the contest.

The Seahawks finished game one with disciplined at-bats, drawing multiple walks and forcing Grand View to work from behind. Keiser's pitching and defense shut the door late, holding the Vikings scoreless over the final three innings to secure the season-opening win.

Game two saw Keiser deliver another composed performance, this time behind Presley Wright, who set the tone early in the circle. Wright limited the Vikings to just one run, scattering hits and inducing key outs as Grand View struggled to string together sustained offense.

Offensively, the Seahawks struck early and added insurance runs throughout the game, backing their pitching staff with efficient run production. Keiser's defense remained sharp, preventing extra bases and turning routine plays to keep momentum firmly on the home side.

The sweep marks a statement opening weekend for the Seahawks, who defeated a top-six opponent twice on opening day while showcasing depth in the pitching staff and poise at the plate.
