WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Keiser University softball team capped a perfect opening weekend on Saturday afternoon, sweeping Palm Beach Atlantic in a doubleheader at Simpson Field. The Seahawks earned a 4-1 extra-inning victory in game one before completing the sweep with a 5-2 win in game two, improving to 4-0 on the season.

The sweep marked a milestone moment for the program, as head coach John Pryor recorded the 100th win of his Keiser career, while the Seahawks opened a season 4-0 for the first time since 2020.

Game one developed into a tightly contested pitching duel, with the teams locked in a 1-1 tie through seven innings. Keiser's lone run in regulation came in the fourth inning when Ava Stahl delivered an RBI single to tie the game. In the top of the eighth, Stahl once again played a pivotal role, reaching safely on an error by the Palm Beach Atlantic third baseman, allowing the Seahawks to break the tie and spark a three-run inning. Mackenzie Masternak went the distance in the circle, allowing just one run and closing the door in the eighth to secure the extra-inning win.

In game two, Keiser struck early and built momentum throughout the afternoon. The Seahawks opened the scoring in the second inning when Tessa DiPietra drove in Jordan Brantley with a sacrifice fly to center field.

Keiser added to its lead in the third inning, as Ava Stahl delivered a two-run single to left center, scoring Genesis Iglesias and Trinity Rohrer. Later in the inning, DiPietra worked a bases-loaded walk, bringing home Stahl to give the Seahawks a 4-0 advantage.

Palm Beach Atlantic scratched across an unearned run in the fourth, but Keiser responded late. In the seventh inning, Olivia Shoemaker lined an RBI single to right field, scoring Lanie Macicek to extend the lead to 5-1. The Sailfish added a run in the bottom of the inning, but Presley Wright finished the game to secure the win in the circle.
