Apisah Claims Fourth ITA Regional Singles Title, Pairs with Sister for Doubles Title

| Box Score 4 Violet Apisah led the way for Keiser women's tennis once again, claiming her fourth straight ITA Regional Singles Title before pairing with her sister Patricia Apisah for a doubles title. The ladies finished with an overall record of 12-3 in singles and a 7-1 record in doubles.

Violet Apisah and Cato Tangkau faced off to begin the day after strong runs throughout the tournament. Apisah was able to keep her form in the final, dominating the second set to take the match and the title. Apisah's impressive run included just four games dropped across five matches. In doubles, Apisah and Apisah clinched the ITA Regional Championship doubles crown in an all-Keiser final, outlasting teammates Alexandra Melnikova and Cato Tangkau in a thrilling 8-6 battle. The Apisah duo showed resilience down the stretch, breaking serve late to secure the title and cap off a dominant tournament. The win in doubles is the third in four years for Violet and the first for Patricia.

Coach's Corner

When asked about the tournament, Head Coach Daniel Finn said, "First off, I'm proud of the girls in their effort this week. I always say this is one of the hardest tournaments to play in. We always play it so soon right after the summer break, and the conditions in South Florida in September are never easy. When you're dealing with playing 3 to 4 matches a day plus 90° heat on the court, everthing becomes a lot more challenging. Proud of how we stayed resilient and kept pushing through regardless of any kind of weather situations we ran into whether it was the heat, or the multiple delays."

On Violet Apisah's performance in the tournament, "Proud to see Violet come through the draw the way she did and stay as focused as she did all the way through. She's always been one of the best players in the country, and she showed it again this week. It was cool to see her and her sister get to play together. That's something they've wanted to be able to do for the past couple years, and circumstances just haven't worked out in their favor. Really happy to see them both get to play doubles together and really put on a good show this week at the regional and take home the title."
