Keiser Director of Athletics Kris Swogger announced on Wednesday the hiring of Ty Copper as the next head coach of the Keiser spirit squad.

"Ty's passion, creativity, and commitment to empowering student-athletes stood out from the moment we met her. She brings not only a wealth of experience but also a contagious energy that will no doubt inspire our team and campus community."
"I'm incredibly grateful to the Keiser University Athletic Department for this amazing opportunity," Copper said. "Coaching at the collegiate level in the community where I was raised makes this role especially meaningful. I'm excited to bring my passion and commitment to the cheer and dance program as we work together to build a lasting legacy of excellence."

Copper joins Keiser after spending a year as the head cheer coach at Suncoast High School where she led Chargers to first place at the 2025 FSHAA Regional Cheer Competition, Game Day Division, fourth place at the 2025 FSHAA State Championship Semifinals, Game Day Division, first place at the 2025 No Stress Cheer Competition, Game Day Division, and first place at the Magic Touch Cheer Competition, Game Day Division. Before joining Suncoast High School, Copper was the head cheer coach at Boynton Beach High School for four seasons (2020-2024). There she guided the Tigers to first place at the 2024 No Stress Cheer Competition, Game Day Division. She was also selected as UCA All-American Chaperon for the 2024 Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade. She began her career as assistant cheer coach at Royal Palm Beach High School (2016-2018).
She has successfully led teams under USA Cheer, FHSAA, UCA, and NFHS guidelines, consistently building programs rooted in discipline, teamwork, and excellence. As a member of USA Cheer, certified in NFHS safety and FHSAA compliance, and CPR/AED certified.
She was an All-American cheerleader at Nova Southeastern, where she earned a bachelor's degree in psychology in 2014.
