For the fourth consecutive year, the Keiser Seahawks have been picked as the favorite to claim the Sun Conference title; the league announced on Friday. The 2025 Sun Conference Preseason Football Coaches' Poll was voted on by the conference's eight head coaches.
 
The 2025 season will mark the second for Head Coach Myles Russ as the program enters its eighth year.
 
The Seahawks wrapped up a 2024 season where Keiser made its third straight National Championship appearance, posting a 12-1 overall record. Keiser recorded four all-Americans (NAIA & AP) as well as the AFCA NAIA Coach of the Year (Myles Russ). The Seahawks produced 16 All-Sun Conference Honorees, including the SUN Special Teams Player of the Year, the SUN Defensive Player of the Year, and the SUN Offensive Lineman of the Year.

Top of the League

• The Seahawks totaled 45 points, including five first-place votes to finish atop the preseason poll
• St. Thomas was selected to finish second with 44 points to go along with two first-place votes
• Southeastern earned the third spot with 40 points (one first-place vote)

A Look Back at Last Season

• Finished the year with a 12-1 record (6-0 SUN)
• Appeared in the team's third straight Sun Conference title, going a perfect 6-0 in league action
• Ranked No. 1 in the nation during the entire season
• Registered 16 All-Sun Conference Honorees, including the SUN Special Teams Player of the Year (Refeno Vangates), the SUN Defensive Player of the Year (Tai Lologo), and the SUN Offensive Lineman of the Year (Jude Guerrier)
• Tallied one AFCA All-American (Andrew Burnette) and three AP All-Americans (Bam Brima, Justin Carcel, and Jude Guerrier)
• Tai Lologo was named the Cliff Harris Award (top small college defensive player in the country) 
• Offensively, Keiser recorded 2,804 yards (No. 2 all-time at Keiser) on the ground with 33 rushing touchdowns (No. 3 all-time at Keiser)
• The Seahawk's passing game tallied 3,321 yards (school record) with 31 passing touchdowns (school record)
• The 6,125 yards of total offense the Seahawks produced in 2024 was a school record
• Keiser set the school record for total yards with 607 versus Pikeville (Ky.) (11/30)
• Keiser's offense averaged 37.7 points per game (No. 23 in the NAIA)
• Defensively, the Seahawks allowed 21.5 points per contest (No. 31 in the NAIA)

The 2025 season kicks off on Saturday, August 30, as the Seahawks travel to Marion, Indiana, to take on the No. 5-ranked Indiana Weslyan Wildcats. Kickoff from Wildcat Football Stadium is set for 12:00 PM.
