After waiting out inclement weather, top-ranked Keiser netted five straight goals to open both the first and second quarters to dominate No. 7 Concordia (Mich.) 23-8 and advance to the championship game of the 2025 NAIA Men's Lacrosse Championship Thursday night at Memorial Stadium. The Seahawks improve to 14-1 on the season, while the Cardinals conclude their season with a 12-6 record.
Kegan Hufford and
Ryan Stowell netted four goals apiece to lead the way for Keiser. The Seahawks had 11 different players net goals in the game, while
Chris Rayburn went 9-12 on faceoffs and
Jackson Marshall tallied a pair of caused turnovers to go along with four ground balls.
Lucas Green and
James Boyer combined for 11 saves in the win.
Keiser 6, Concordia (Mich.) 1
- For the second straight game, Kegan Hufford netted team's first goal of the game, scoring two goals in the first five minutes
- After AJ Badik pushed Keiser's lead to three (7:29), Hufford registered his fifth hat trick of the season with his third goal of the period (6:40)
- Kyle Davis capped off the 5-0 run to start the game with his fifth goal of the season (5:41)
- CUAA got on the board with a goal by Cooper Regimbal but Badik answered 20 seconds later with his second goal of the game (3:53)
Keiser 14, Concordia (Mich.) 3
- Keiser added eight goals in the second period to put the game out of reach
- The Seahawks scored eight straight to open the period as Keiser led, 14-1, with 2:53 left in the half
- During that streak, two Seahawks notched hat tricks as Ryan Stowell produced three of those goals and Badik netted one in the stanza
- The Cardinals scored the final two goals of the quarter as Keiser led by 11 going into halftime
Keiser 21, Concordia (Mich.) 6
- The Seahawks continued to pushed their lead, out-scoring the Cardinals, 7-3, in the third
- Six different Seahawks scored goals in the quarter
Keiser 23, Concorida (Mich.) 8
- The fourth quarter was even on hte scoreboard as both teams netted two goals
- Keiser's goals were registered by Ryan Rundle (11:12) and Cole Newsome (8:18)
- With the win, Keiser improves to 14-1 on the year
- The Seahawks are now 11-5 overall in NAIA postseason play (NAIA National and Invitational Tournaments)
- Keiser has out-scored the opposition, 254-119, this season
- Leading all Seahawks with six points (two goals, four assists) was Ryan Rundle
- The four assists were a season high for Rundle
- Ryan Stowell added four goals and an assist (five points), notching his seventh hat trick of the season
- Kegan Hufford notched his third straight hat trick, scoring four goals - his fifth hat trick of the season
- He also had an assists for five points
