The Keiser baseball team was six outs away from a trip to Lewiston, Idaho, however the No. 2-ranked Georgia Gwinnett Grizzles rallied to force the "if necessary" game in the Lawrenceville Regional. Unable to eliminate the Grizzles in the second game of the day, the Seahawks season ended in the Regional Championship, 13-8, on Thursday afternoon.
The Seahawks which defeated GGC, 7-4, the day before, held a 10-5 lead in the bottom the eighth in the first game of the day. But, a six-run inning by the Grizzles kept GGC's season alive. The second game of the day was decided with a six-run bottom of the fifth for Georgia Gwinnett as GGC advanced to Lewiston.
With the losses, Keiser ended the season with a 37-17 record.Â
