In a high-stakes matchup to open the NAIA National Championship Opening Round, the (rv) Seahawks delivered a dramatic 10-9 walk-off win over No. 14 Houston-Victoria on Monday night. Down by one in the bottom of the ninth, the Seahawks plated two runs to defeat the Jaguars and improve to 36-15 on the year.

Dylan Symonds was the hero at the plate, driving in four runs—including the game-tying and game-winning RBI in the final frame. Simon Grinberg added a key spark in the middle of the lineup, going 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI, and three runs scored. Landon Lowe went 2-for-4 with three runs scored and a double, helping pace a Keiser offense that tallied nine hits on the night.

On the mound, Tanner Goswick earned the win, tossing 1.2 innings of relief with three strikeouts and no walks. Garrett Brogdon contributed a solid 4.0 innings out of the bullpen, striking out six while limiting UHV to two earned runs.

Despite trailing in five different innings, the Seahawks tied the game twice before sealing the win in the ninth on back-to-back RBI singles from Andrew Almendarez and Symonds. The Seahawks now advance in the Lawrenceville bracket and will return to action on Tuesday at 8:00 PM to face the winner of No. 2 Georgia Gwinnett and Talledaga.

Seahawk Hurlers
  • Bastyan Hernandez got the start for the Seahawks, pitching 2.0 innings. He allowed four hits and three earned runs, striking out one without issuing a walk. Hernandez threw 33 pitches, 25 of them for strikes.
  • Garrett Brogdon followed in long relief, entering in the third inning and tossing 4.0 innings. He gave up five hits and two earned runs while striking out six and walking three. Brogdon threw 76 pitches, 47 of them for strikes, and helped keep the game within reach.
  • Carson Hawkes entered in the seventh and worked 1.1 innings. He allowed two hits and three runs, two of them earned, while walking two and striking out one. He finished with 35 pitches thrown, 16 for strikes.
  • Tanner Goswick closed things out for Keiser, pitching 1.2 critical innings. He surrendered three hits and one earned run, struck out three, and did not walk a batter. Goswick threw 21 pitches, 15 of which were strikes, and earned the win following the ninth-inning comeback.

Seahawk Batters
  • Dylan Symonds led the way at the plate with a clutch 2-for-5 performance, driving in a game-high four RBIs. His biggest moment came in the bottom of the ninth, when he delivered the walk-off single to seal the 10-9 victory.
  • Simon Grinberg had a strong showing, going 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs, and three runs scored. He also drew a walk and helped spark Keiser's rally in the middle innings.
  • Landon Lowe served as a steady presence at the top of the lineup, finishing 2-for-4 with a double and three runs scored. He reached base three times and consistently put pressure on the UHV pitching staff.
  • Andrew Almendarez came up big in a pinch-hit appearance in the ninth, delivering a game-tying RBI single up the middle with two outs to keep Keiser alive.
  • Edbarry Guzman went 1-for-4 with an RBI single in the fourth and also drew a walk. His hit helped jumpstart Keiser's first big rally of the night.
