Keiser softball swept Florida Memorial in dominant fashion today in a doubleheader at Alumni Field. The Seahawks run-ruled the Lions 8-0 in both games, improving their record to 16-5 on the season. In the three game series, KU outscored FMU 17-0.

• Mackenzie Masternak kept her momentum going with her second consecutive complete game shutout, striking out three batters (57 pitches)

• Lizzy Small went 2-2 with 3 RBI
• Bridget Dunham and Genesis Iglesias each went 2-2 and scored two runs

• The Seahawks took an early lead and never looked back en route to a five inning run-rule victory

• Genesis Iglesias hit a single through the left side, and Faith Campos came home to score on a Lions throwing error
• Tessa DiPietra reached on a fielder's choice to bring home Iglesias

KU 5, FMU 0

• The Seahawks kept the pressure on when Faith Campos reached first base with a bunt single, and a Florida Memorial throwing error allowed Kelsey Ganci to score
• Iglesias picked up an RBI on a sac-fly to bring home Bridget Dunham
• Claire Czajkowski scored Campos on a sac-fly to shallow left field

• With the bases loaded, Lizzy Small put the game in run-rule territory with a bases clearing triple to right field that scored DiPietra, Iglesias, and Dunham

• Florida Memorial had its chance to avoid the mercy rule, but the final three Lion batters went down in order

• Mackenzie Masternak was in the circle once again, and picked up her third pitching win of the season (53 pitches)
• Lizzy Small pitched the final inning in relief (16 pitches)

• Genesis Iglesias and Trinity Rohrer each went 2-3 with two runs scored
• Lanie Macicek had 3 RBI and a stolen base
• Bridget Dunham walked twice, scored two runs, and stole a base
• Tessa DiPietra stole a base and so did Faith Campos
• Claire Czajkowski hit a two run homer

• Keiser preserved their series shutout of Florida Memorial with another overwhelming performance

• Keiser took the early lead with a sacrifice fly from Genesis Iglesias that scored Bridget Dunham
• Claire Czajkowski hit a booming home run to left field, Iglesias scored on the play

• Lanie Macicek hit a 2 RBI single past third base to score Rohrer and Lizzy Small

• Macicek picked up another RBI on a sacrifice fly to right field that brought home Tessa DiPietra

KU 8, FMU 0

• After Florida Memorial failed to score in the top of the inning Genesis Iglesias brought the run-rule into effect with a walk-off RBI double up the middle to score Bridget Dunham

The Seahawks will be in Viera, Fla. this Monday for games against No. 21 Midland, and Defiance College.
