Keiser softball was on point today, taking down No. 21 Midland and Defiance College in their final games of the USSSA Space Coast Spring Games. The Seahawks moved their record to 18-5 overall, and have now won five straight games.


Keiser Seahawks 8, No. 21 Midland Warriors 4
Pitchers of Record: W: Miller (1-0), L: Petrick (6-2)

• Mackenzie Masternak started the game, and logged two strikeouts (67 pitches)
• Maggie Miller pitched two innings in relief, picking up her first win of the season (41 pitches)
• Lizzy Small pitched the final inning, grabbing her second save of the year (4 pitches)

• Claire Czajkowski went 3-4 with 2 RBI
• Faith Campos hit two doubles
• Bridget Dunham and Kelsey Ganci each stole a base

• The Seahawks jumped on the Warriors early and piled up nine hits to take down the No. 21 team in the nation

KU 1, FU 0

• Claire Czajkowski hit an RBI single into right field to score Bridget Dunham

KU 4, MU 0

• Genesis Iglesias hit a 2 RBI single to left field to bring home Faith Campos and Bridget Dunham
• Czajkowski grabbed her second RBI of the game on a single that scored Iglesias

KU 4, MU 4

• The Warriors scored their first runs of the day on a 2 RBI single up the middle
• Midland tied the game with an RBI single and a bases-loaded walk

KU 8, MU 4

• Unfazed after Midland tied the ballgame, the Seahawks quickly loaded the bases, and Trinity Rohrer put KU back in the lead with a 2 RBI single
• Two more Seahawks (Ganci and Small) came home on a Warrior throwing error

KU 8, MU 4

• The Warriors were threatening in the final inning with two runners on base, but the Seahawks clinched the game with a double play

Keiser Seahawks 6, Defiance College Yellow Jackets 2
Pitchers of Record: W: Small (4-3), L: Vickers (0-2)

• Lizzy Small moved her record to 4-3 on the season, striking out a season-high five batters (84 pitches)
• Anne Melle pitched a half inning in relief, picking up a strikeout (18 pitches)

• Claire Czajkowski went 3-4 with two doubles
• Faith Campos went 2-3, and scored three runs to increase her Sun Conference lead in that category
• Campos also stole three bases
• Lizzy Small had 2 RBI

• Keiser put 10 hits on the board and forced five Yellow Jacket errors

KU 2, DC 0

• Faith Campos scored the first run of the game on a Yellow Jacket fielding error
• Lizzy Small walked with the bases loaded to score Genesis Iglesias

• Iglesias increased Keiser's lead with an RBI single through the left side to bring home Campos

KU 4, DC 0

• Campos scored her third run of the game on a wild pitch

KU 4, DC 2 

• Defiance got on the board with an RBI single
• The Yellow Jackets scored another run on a double steal

KU 5, DC 2

• Lizzy Small hit an RBI single to right field that brought home Claire Czajkowski

KU 6, DC 2

• Ashley Bullock brought Lanie Macicek home with a sacrifice fly to centerfield
