(rv) Keiser men's wrestling will return to Wichita, Kansas for the NAIA Wrestling National Championships at the Hartman Arena. The Seahawks will be represented by
Miguel Hernandez and
Jett McCauley, two athletes who have had superb seasons, and are looking to bring some championship hardware home to West Palm Beach.
The tournament will be broken up into multiple sessions with the first session beginning Thursday, March 6Â at 11:00 a.m. EST.Â
Miguel Hernandez, Graduate, Dade City, Fla - 165
- Qualified with a runner-up finish at the AAC Championships
- Finished the season with an 18-7 overall record
- Ended the regular season ranked as the No. 23 165 wrestler in the nation
- The graduate student from Dade City, Fla. had a 6-2 record versus AAC competition, and defeated No. 5 Matt Jenkins (Reinhardt) in the AAC semifinals
- Hernandez has a first round bye, and will face the winner of Juan Lopez (Graceland) versus No. 2 Keller Rock (Embry-Riddle)
Jett McCauley, Freshman, Punta Gorda, Fla - 197
- Secured his nationals spot with a fifth place finish at the AAC Championships
- He is the second true freshman in Keiser program history to make it to NAIA nationals
- Comes into Witchita with a 29-16 overall record, the most wins (29) on the team
- McCauley won 11 of his matches this season by tech fall
- Ended the regular season ranked as the No. 20 197 wrestler in the NAIAÂ
- The freshman will take on No. 12 Trenton Blomquist (Embry-Riddle) in his opening match
