No. 1 Keiser men's lacrosse falls to No. 5 Reinhardt in Waleska, Ga., 15-13. The Seahawks scored eight goals in the fourth quarter, but fell short in the comeback. With less than a minute to go,
Kegan Hufford and
Vincent Cerasuolo netted back-to-back goals to bring the Seahawks within two.
JP Prather led the Seahawks in points as he tallied six in the contest, with four goals and two assists.
The Seahawks will continue their road trip as they face (rv) Life University. The opening face-off is set for Sunday, April 6th, at 12:00 p.m.
Keiser 4, RU 5
- The Eagles were first on the board with a goal from Joey Amatuli with 12:15 on the clock
- Less than a minute later, after an Eagles faceoff violation, Marek Albiero had an answer to make it 1-1
- RU's Carter Garrision and KU's Ryan Rundle exchanged goals for a 2-2 game, with 10:21 remaining on the clock
- The Eagles went on a three-goal run, but with less than two minutes remaining in the quarter JP Prather and AJ Badik brought the Seahawks within one, 5-4
- The first quarter came to an end with a last-second save from Lucas Green to keep the Seahawks within one
Keiser 5 , RU 10
- With 14:00 on the clock, Benjamin Shackelford gave the Eagles the two goal lead, 6-4
- Ryan Rundle collected his first assist of the game as he hit Prather on a quick cut in front of the net to make it 6-5 RU
- The Eagles finished the quarter on a four-goal run while holding the Seahawks were held to only one
Keiser 5, RU 12
- The Eagles scored early after the break, as Reid McDowell found the back of the net with 13:40 on the clock
- After many exchanged possessions, Luke Greer scored for the Eagles to extend their lead to seven with 4:40 to play
- Neither team scored for the remainder of the quarter; Lucas Green tallied four saves in the quarter
Keiser 13, RU 15
- To open up the final quarter of play, with 14:40 on the clock, Prather found Kegan Hufford who ripped a shot top-shelf to cut the Eagles lead to six
- Prather netted back-to-back goals for the Seahawks to bring them within four with 10:46 remaining
- After five minutes of play, RU's Reid McDowell scored to bring their lead back to five
- The very next play, after Keiser won the faceoff with a Zach Crotwell groundball, Crotwell found Rundle with 5:16 remaining to go
- The Eagles would go on a two-goal run, which then sparked the Seahawks to go on their own two-goal run with goals from Braeden Niemy and Rundle with 3:43 to go
- The Seahawks continued to come back as Jalen Parker caused the Eagles to turn the ball over, which led to another goal by Hufford
- Vincent Cerasuolo clipped the low corner to bring the Seahawks within two with 46 seconds remaining
- The Seahawks won the ensuing faceoff but couldn't find the back of the net
- Keiser falls to 7-1 in the regular season
- The Seahawks are now 4-1 in conference play
- Ryan Rundle and JP Prather netted hat-tricks
- Crotwell and Prather collected two assists apiece
- Cole Nappi was near perfect in the face-off circle going 13-for-15
- Chris Rayburn added 12 face-off wins in the circle
- Vincent Cerasuolo had two caused-turnovers
