How it Happened

First Half
Keiser 38, Southern Oregon 36
  • Cameron Stitt had eight points early for the Seahawks as the two teams battled for momentum through the first five minutes with Keiser holding a two-point advantage, 14-12
  • There was still not much separation by the 9:34 mark with the two teams tied at 22
  • The Seahawks finally got on a run, taking a 30-24 lead off a pair of Calvin Sirmans free throw
  • Southern Oregon closed in as the two teams went to the half with the Seahawks still ahead by two

Second Half
Southern Oregon 83, Keiser 79
  • The Raiders started fast in the second half, creating a 12-point advantage by the 15:12 mark
  • The lead would grow up to 17 points with 9:16 remaining, their largest of the game
  • Keiser would score five straight to cut into the lead before a foul with 7:43 on the clock called on Vincent Miszkiewicz would end his night, his fifth foul of the contest
  • Without their big man, the Seahawks rallied, going on a 21-9 run over five minutes capped by a three by Sirmans to cut the lead down to two, 75-73
  • Stitt would tie the game at 77 with 1:50 on the clock off a great pass from Payne
  • After a made free throw by the Raiders, Payne would come down to the other end and drive before hitting what was thought to be an and-1. The ref would instead call a charge, giving possession to Southern Oregon
  • Down two with the shot clock turned off, Keiser would have the ball again. Sirmans would get a decent look, but the contested rebound would result in a jump ball with the possession arrow pointing to the Raiders
  • Keiser would be forced to foul, and the Raiders would hit both free throws to ice the game
