Milena Isturiz had the game of her career on Monday afternoon in Waleska, Ga., tallying 10 goals and one assist as No. 3 Keiser women's lacrosse trounced No. 7 Missouri Baptist, 27-15. Behind the 10 goals from Isturiz, Jia Schweigert and Isabelle Vrensen each had four goals for the Seahawks. Jordyn Payne led the team with three assists on the day to go along with a goal. Isturiz was all over the field for KU, leading the team with three caused turnovers and tying for the team lead in groundballs with two along with Baylee Walker and Hayley Frew

Keiser will head home for a few days before traveling to Babson Park for a neutral site game against (rv) Georgetown on Friday, March 14. The opening draw control from the Webber Turf Field is set for 11:00 a.m.


First Quarter
Keiser 6, Missouri Baptist 3
  • Isabelle Vrensen was once again involved in the first goal of the day, finding Milena Isturiz who made it 1-0 early
  • With 11:21 showing, Peyton Tomlinson accepted all defenders before beating them to the lane and firing in a goal
  • Isturiz found the back of the net again with 10:34 on the clock, forcing a timeout by the Spartans
  • Following a goal by Missouri Baptist, Isturiz completed her hat trick to make it 4-1
  • Vrensen would score after a long run around the net before consecutive goals by MBU made it 5-3 with 2:35 remaining
  • After a big save by Cassidy Green, the Seahawks got out in transition with Jia Schweigert finding MacKenzie Gibaud open in front of net for the goal with 15 seconds left

Second Quarter
Keiser 16, Missouri Baptist 8
  • Missouri Baptist would convert a pair of goals early in the second quarter to make it a one-goal game with 12:18 on the clock
  • The next two minutes belonged to Isturiz as she tallied back-to-back-to-back goals to make it 9-5 with 10:19 to play
  • Schweigert converted a scoop shot to make it 10-5 less than a minute later
  • Once again, it was Isturiz who found the back of the net twice to bring her goals total to eight, tying the school record just 20 minutes into the game
  • Jordyn Payne and Vrensen would tally consecutive goals as Keiser stretched their advantage to nine
  • Missouri Baptist would not go down quietly with Mac Miller and Lydia Cornett connecting for a pair before Cornett made it 14-8 with 2:39 to play
  • Payne would find a wide-open Schweigert in transition to make it 15 before Schweigert struck again just before the buzzer to make it 16-8 at the half


Third Quarter
Keiser 22, Missouri Baptist 12
  • Three minutes into the third, Isturiz scored to give her nine goals on the day, the most in a game by a Seahawk in program history
  • Following a goal by the Spartans, it looked like Isturiz scored again with 10 minutes left, but the refs ruled the ball did not cross the line
  • MoBap would take advantage with two consecutive goals to make it 17-10 with 8:47 showing
  • Schweigert would score her fourth of the game before back-to-back goals by Vrensen extended the Keiser lead to nine with 5:13 still to play in the third
  • Kate Griffin and Emily Ferris would score before the end of the third to put the Seahawks up by 10, 22-12

Fourth Quarter
Keiser 27, Missouri Baptist 15
  • Samantha Esher opened the fourth with her first goal of the game followed by Isturiz who scored once again
  • After two goals by the Spartans, Victoria Francisco scored her first of the day followed by Esher and Ferris


Game Notes
  • Keiser improves to 7-0 with the win
  • The Seahawks grab their second neutral site win of the season and fourth ranked win
  • Isturiz's 10 goals are the most in program history, breaking the previous record of eight goals held by Madison Andrews against Montreat on March 24, 2022
  • The 10 goals also tied for the second-most goals in a game in NAIA history and tied for the most scored in a game this season
  • The 11 points by Isturiz also surpass the previous program record of 10 held by Andrews in the same game
  • Schweigert and Vrensen with four goals for the second game in a row for KU
  • The two now have three four-goal games this season
  • Payne led the team with three of the 11 total assists on the day
  • Tomlinson had a goal and an assist while leading the team in the circle with five draw controls
  • Isturiz was also a leader in the field, recording three caused turnovers
  • She tied for the team lead in groundballs with Walker and Frew, who all finished with two
  • Raelyn Boutwell tied her season-high saves mark with five in the game
  • For the fifth time this season, the Seahawks led the game wire-to-wire
