No. 3 Keiser women's lacrosse earned another dominant win on Friday, defeating Georgetown in a neutral site matchup in Babson Park, 24-3. Milena Isturiz has not tired from scoring goals, leading the Seahawks with five goals on the day. She was one of five players with a hat trick on the day that included MacKenzie Gibaud, Peyton Tomlinson, Jia Schweigert, and Isabelle Vrensen. Gibaud also had a team-high three assists on the day. 

Keiser will have a quick turnaround with a Sun Conference matchup against Webber on Saturday, March 15 in Babson Park. The opening draw control from the Warrior Turf Field is set for 3:00 p.m.


First Quarter
Keiser 10, Georgetown 1
  • For the third time this season, Isabelle Vrensen scored the opening goal of the game 
  • The Seahawks got the ensuing draw control as Jia Schweigert made it 2-0 20 seconds later
  • With 12:21 on the clock, Milena Isturiz found the back of the net to make it 3-0
  • She grabbed the ensuing draw control before finding Vrensen who put her second on the board
  • 30 seconds later it was MacKenzie Gibaud who made it 5-0 on a free position shot, forcing a timeout from Georgetown
  • Emily McCall tallied her first after scooting through the defense to make it 6-0
  • The Tigers got on the board with 7:47 left in the first to make it 6-1
  • Jordyn Payne and Peyton Tomlinson made it 8-1 soon after with back-to-back goals
  • With 2:59 to play, Gibaud found Isturiz on a cut to make it 9-1
  • Isturiz would tack on the final goal of the first with four seconds on the clock to give Keiser a 10-1 lead at the end of the first

Second Quarter
Keiser 13, Georgetown 2
  • 50 seconds into the second, Schweigert put Keiser up 10 with her second of the day
  • The Tigers stopped the running clock with 11:58 to play but Schweigert was back with just under 10 to play to make it 12-2
  • Tomlinson converted on a free position shot with 6:19 on the clock to make it a 13-2 game
  • Keiser went into the break with a 25-6 advantage in shots


Third Quarter
Keiser 19, Georgetown 2
  • Vrensen tallied her third of the day to open the third followed by Gibaud who finished her hat trick with a pair of goals
  • Samantha Esher and Hayley Frew got on the board late in the third for their firsts of the day
  • Tomlinson wrapped up the third quarter with her hat trick at the 1:03 mark 

Fourth Quarter
Keiser 24, Georgetown 3
  • Isturiz opened the fourth with her fourth of the game to make it 20-2
  • Following a goal by Georgetown, Tomlinson and Isturiz nabbed two more to make it 22-3
  • Gibaud grabbed her fourth before Kate Griffin ended the game with her first goal of the day


Game Notes
  • With the win, the Seahawks are now 8-0
  • Keiser is now 3-0 in neutral site contests this season
  • The Seahawks have now tallied at least 20 goals in a game in five games this season
  • On the defensive side, Keiser has held four opponents to three goals or fewer
  • Isturiz has been causing problems all season for opposing coaches with five more goals today
  • Gibaud and Tomlinson finished just behind her with four each followed by Vrensen and Schweigert who each had three
  • For Tomlinson, the four goals are a new career high
  • Gibaud also led the Seahawks in points with seven, tallying three assists in the midday game
  • She came into the year without ever recording three assists in a game and has done it three times this season
  • The rest of the field continues to be roamed by Isturiz who led the Seahawks with three caused turnovers and five groundballs
  • She also tied Frew for the lead in draw controls on the day with six
  • KU has now recorded at least 20 draw controls in a game four times this season
  • Raelyn Boutwell got the start and stopped four shots followed by Cassidy Green who was credited with three saves
  • Friday marked the sixth time this season that the Seahawks led wire-to-wire
