Keiser softball hosted their 2025 home opener this afternoon and split a doubleheader versus NCAA DII Lynn. The Seahawks rallied for a dramatic win in game one and fell 5-2 in the second game.
Keiser Seahawks 3, Lynn Fighting Knights 2
Pitchers of Record: W: Masternak (2-0), L: Lindsey (1-1)
- Mackenzie Masternak put together a warrior's performance, pitching all seven innings and securing a win (122 pitches)
- The Seahawks trailed for most of the game but roared to life in the seventh inning, scoring three unanswered runs to swipe the victory from Lynn

- The Fighting Knights scored the first run of the game with an RBI double

- Lynn scored another run on a Seahawk throwing error

- The Seahawks were trailing by two runs in the final inning, but the Keiser batters proved ready for the challenge
- Faith Campos got things started with a lead-off walk
- Rylie Mecchella kept the line moving with another walk
- Trinity Rohrer came in to pinch hit, and reached base on a Fighting Knights throwing error that allowed Campos to score
- Bridget Dunham tied the game with a clutch RBI single that brought home Mecchella
- With two outs on the board, Claire Czajkowski hammered a double to right field that won the game in walk-off fashion for Keiser

Pitchers of Record: W: Zazzali (2-0), L: Small (0-2)
- Lizzy Small started the game, and struck out three batters in six innings (75 pitches)
- Mackenzie Masternak pitched the final inning in relief of Small (14 pitches)
- The Seahawks yielded 10 hits to the Fighting Knights, and were unable to rally in the late innings

- The Fighting Knights jumped out in front with two RBI singles

- Lynn's Kyra Sunga gave the Fighting Knights the lead on an RBI single
- Teagan Riley added to the Lynn lead with a bases-clearing 2 RBI double

- Keiser was unable to bring any baserunners home, and the game came to an end on a fielder's choice

The Seahawks will play another DII squad this weekend when they travel to Edward Waters this Saturday for a doubleheader beginning at 12:00 p.m.
