Keiser softball played two teams receiving votes in the latest NAIA poll this afternoon on their first day of competition in the USSSA Space Coast Games. The Seahawks took down (rv) Johnson, and fell in six innings to (rv) Grand View.

Pitchers of Record: W: Masternak (7-0) L: Pritchard (1-1)

• Mackenzie Masternak got her seventh win of the season, striking out three batters (71 pitches)
• Lizzy Small pitched 2.2 innings in relief (39 pitches)

• Bridget Dunham went 2-4
• Macy Schaaf stole a base
• Genesis Iglesias had 3 RBI
• Faith Campos hit a triple

• The Seahawks got off to a hot start, and held off a late Johnson rally to take the game.

KU 3, Johnson 0

• Keiser got on the board first when two runners scored on a Royal throwing error
• Tessa DiPietra brought Lizzy Small home with a bases loaded walk

KU 3, Johnson 1

• The Royals scored their first run of the game with a double steal

KU 6, Johnson 1

• Kelsey Ganci brought Macy Schaaf home with an RBI double
• Faith Campos scored Ganci with an RBI triple
• Genesis Iglesias hit a single to bring Campos across home plate

KU 6, Johnson 3

• Johnson plated two runs with a pair of RBI doubles

KU 6, Johnson 5

• The Royals cut the Keiser lead down to one with a 2 RBI double

KU 9, Johnson 5

• Genesis Iglesias padded the KU lead with a 2 RBI triple to center field, and crossed home plate herself on a wild pitch

Keiser Seahawks 0, (rv) Grandview Vikings 9
Pitchers of Record: W: Waldorf (2-2), L: Masternak (7-1) 

• Mackenzie Masternak was on the hook for her first loss of the season (23 pitches)
• Maggie Miller pitched the final five innings in relief (80 pitches)

• Ashley Bullock and Tessa DiPietra each went 1-2

• Keiser fell victim to a five run second inning from the Vikings, and a season-high five errors

KU 0, Grand View 5

• The Vikings plated one run on a fielding error, another on a fielder's choice, two runs on a single, and the fifth run on a double steal

• Grand View got two more runners home on a Keiser throwing error
• The Viking's final two runs of the game were scored on a 2 RBI single

The Seahawks will play Bethel (Ind.) at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow, and Spring Arbor at 4:45 p.m.
