Keiser softball is now 12-4 on the season after picking up two wins today. The Seahawks were able to overpower Bethel (Ind.) 8-2, and walk off Spring Arbor 2-1. The Seahawks have won seven of their last eight games.


Keiser Seahawks 8, Bethel (Ind.) Pilots 2
Pitchers of Record: W: Melle (2-0) L: McNeil (0-3)

• Anne Melle got the second win of her Keiser career, striking out one batter. (42 pitches)
• Lizzy Small pitched the final 3.1 innings, picking up three strikeouts. (60 pitches)

• Faith Campos had a double, and a career high three stolen bases
• Claire Czajkowski and Genesis Iglesias each hit a double
• Macy Schaaf hit a triple
• Tessa DiPietra had a career high three stolen bases

• The Seahawks jumped out to a 6-0 lead, and piled up 10 hits to fly away from the Pilots.

KU 2, BU 0

• Keiser got the day started with an RBI single from Genesis Iglesias
• Claire Czajkowski hit a sac-fly to score Iglesias from third

KU 3, BU 0

• Faith Campos slammed a double over the head of the Bethel left fielder to bring home Bridget Dunham

KU 6, BU 0

• Macy Schaaf smacked an RBI triple that scored Lizzy Small
• Tessa DiPietra hit an RBI single up the middle to bring home Schaaf
• DiPietra later scored on a wild pitch

KU 6, BU 2

• The Pilots scored one run on a Keiser fielding error, and another on a foulout to the outfield

KU 8, BU 2

• Claire Czajkowski picked up another RBI on a groundout that brought Faith Campos across home plate
• Lizzy Small tacked on another run for Keiser with a sacrifice fly that scored Genesis Iglesias

Keiser Seahawks 2, Spring Arbor Cougars 1
Pitchers of Record: W: Masternak (8-1), L: Underwood (1-1) 

• Mackenzie Masternak went the distance, striking out three batters (76 pitches)

• Faith Campos went 2-2 and swiped two bases
• Genesis Iglesias went 2-3 with a stolen base

• Keiser battled all the way in a defensive struggle, and walked off the game in the seventh inning

KU 1, SAU 0

• Genesis Iglesias and Faith Campos each stole a base on a double steal, and a Spring Arbor throwing error allowed Campos to score

• The Cougars got a lead-off double, and a single in the following at-bat
• A Keiser throwing error on a stolen base allowed Spring Arbor to tie the game, and create some seventh inning drama

KU 1, SAU 1

• With two outs on the board for Keiser, the game seemed destined for extra innings
• However, a Cougar fielding error gave KU new life
• Faith Campos kept the line moving with a single, and later stole second base
• Genesis Iglesias whacked a single up the middle, allowing Kelsey Ganci to score and walk off the game

The Seahawks will return to Viera this Monday, facing Huntington (Ind.) at 2:30 p.m. and No. 10 Marian at 4:45 p.m.
