Keiser softball closed out their weekly slate today with a doubleheader sweep of Fort Lauderdale. The Seahawks now hold a 7-3 overall record. 


Keiser Seahawks 6, Fort Lauderdale Eagles 1
Pitchers of Record: W: Masternak (5-0), L: Geary (7-3)

• Mackenzie Masternak grabbed her fifth win of the season, striking out four batters (87 pitches)

• Tessa DiPietra went 3-3
• On her birthday, Ashley Bullock went 2-3
• Genesis Iglesias had 2 RBI and a run scored

• The Seahawks got off to a lighting fast start, and maintained control the entire way

KU 5, UFTL 0

• The Seahawks got things going with a 2 RBI single from Genesis Iglesias that scored Faith Campos and Bridget Dunham
• Claire Czajkowski got her first triple as a Seahawk, smashing a ball into right field that allowed Iglesias to score
• Lizzy Small brought Czajkowski home with an RBI single in the following at-bat
• Tessa DiPietra got Small across home plate with an RBI single

KU 5, UFTL 1

• The Eagles scored their first run of the game on a Keiser fielding error

• The Seahawks scored an insurance run with an RBI groundout by Macy Schaaf

• Lizzy Small got her first win of the season, striking out four batters (86 pitches)
• Mackenzie Masternak picked up her first save as a Seahawk (nine pitches) 

• Tessa DiPietra went 2-2, and stole two bases
• Lizzy Small hit an RBI single

• Keiser scored three runs early on, and held off a late Eagles rally to secure the doubleheader sweep

KU 1, UFTL 0

• Keiser was first on the scoreboard with an RBI single from Lizzy Small that scored Genesis Iglesias

KU 3, UFTL 0

• Tessa DiPietra made one of the wildest plays in Keiser softball history, reaching base on a bunt single, and racing all the way home due to a three base error from the Eagles
• Macy Schaaf also scored on the play

KU 3, UFTL 1

• The Seahawks found themselves in a tricky spot late, with the Eagles plating a run with an RBI single, and loading the bases with a chance to tie the game
• Mackenzie Masternak entered the circle in relief of Small, and was able to record the final out

The Seahawks will host Florida National next Saturday for a home doubleheader, with first pitch of game one set for 12:00 p.m. at Alumni Field.
