Everything was going right for the Keiser men's basketball team on Monday night against Coastal Georgia as they went on to win by 51, 100-49. The game started with both sides scoring from all spots on the court before the Seahawks opened a 23-point lead by halftime. Malik Kabia did most of his work in the second half, finishing the night with a team-high 19 points. Four more Seahawks reached double-digits in the win on a night where Keiser shot 56.7 percent from the floor. Calvin Sirmans ended the night with 16 points and eight assists.

Keiser has a quick turnaround with Webber on Wednesday at home. Tipoff from the Sabbagh Athletic Center in Babson Park, Fla. is set for 7:30 p.m.

Coming out of a media timeout in the first half, the Seahawks went on a 14-2 run with Calvin Sirmans and Tyreon Payne splitting the work to put KU ahead by 13 before pulling away.

First Half

  • It was a wild start to the game as both teams shot above 60 percent in the first five minutes with Keiser taking the lead on a Vincent Miszkiewicz fast-break dunk
  • Tyreon Payne and Calvin Sirmans would combine for the next 14 points as Keiser opened a 26-13 lead
  • After four straight points from the Mariners, the Seahawks broke away on a 12-2 run, once again doubling the score of CCGA at the 5:57 mark, 38-19
  • KU went to the break with a 13-point lead while shooting 51.6 percent from the field


Second Half
Keiser 100, CCGA 49
  • The Seahawks came out of the break on fire, extending their lead to 34 five minutes into the second
  • The lead would only grow through the remainder of the game with the Seahawks going on to win by 51

  • A normally tough place to play, KU moves to 6-5 in road games against CCGA
  • The 51-point win is the second-largest margin of victory this season for the Seahawks and the largest in conference play since December 5, 2009, when Northwood defeated Southeastern 90-38
  • The 49 points is a season low for Coastal Georgia as the Seahawks held their third opponent below 50 points this season
  • The 20 turnovers forced are the second-most from this Keiser squad after forcing 22 just two days ago
  • Keiser split their scoring from the bench and from the starters almost evenly with the bench players accounting for 47 points
  • 19 of those points came from Kabia who tallied a new season-high mark
  • Payne was the next highest scorer for KU with 17 on the night and tied Jackson Kennedy with a team-best six rebounds
  • It was the second-best shooting performance of the season for the Seahawks who shot 56.7 percent from the field
  • The 21 assists and 12 steals both tied the fourth highest marks of the season
