The American Football Coaches Association announced its 2025 Regional Coach of the Year winners on Tuesday with Keiser Head Coach
Myles Russ earning AFCA Region 1 Coach of the Year recognition.
The award marks the second straight season Coach Russ has been named the award winner.
The AFCA recognizes five regional Coach of the Year winners in each of the Association's five divisions: Football Bowl Subdivision, Football Championship Subdivision, Division II, Division III, and NAIA. The winners are selected by Active members of the Association who vote for coaches in their respective regions and divisions.
Myles Russ, Head Coach, Second Season
- Named the AFCA Region 1 Coach of the Year for the second straight season
- Tabbed as the Sun Conference Coach of the Year for the second straight year
- Earns program's sixth conference Coach of the Year award
- Finished his second straight unbeaten regular season (10-0)
- Guided the Seahawks to their seventh consecutive berth in the NAIA Football Championship Series
- Enters this year's NAIA FCS as the No. 2 overall seed
- Keiser has been ranked No. 2 during the entire 2025 season
- Keiser claimed its fourth straight Sun Conference title, going a perfect 7-0 in league action
- The conference crown was the fourth Sun Conference title for KU and the program's seventh straight league title (2019, 2020, and 2021 MSC Sun Division Champions)
- With the perfect 7-0 league record, Keiser has now registered six perfect seasons in conference action (2019, 2020, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025)
- Keiser is one of four undefeated teams remaining in the NAIA (Friends ([Kan.] – 11-0; Montana Tech – 11-0; Grand View - 10-0)
- the Keiser offense average 501.2 yards per game (No. 6 in the NAIA)
- The Seahawks produced over 400 yards of total offense in every game this season
- On the ground, the Seahawks lead the SUN averaging 219.6 yards per game
- The Seahawks are No. 11 in the NAIA is scoring (41.8 ppg)
- The Keiser defense has allowed 15.8 points per game (No. 10 in the NAIA)
- The Seahawks defense ranks No. 17 in the nation in total yards allowed (299.1 ypg)
The Seahawks will host the Second Round of the NAIA Football Championship Series on Saturday, November 29. Kickoff is slated for 1:00 PM.
