WALESKA, Ga. — Keiser women's basketball opened the 2025–26 season on a strong note Friday evening, defeating Reinhardt (Ga.) 69–60 on the road inside the Brown Athletic Center. The victory marked the first career win for head coach Matthew Strickland as the Seahawks began his tenure with an impressive all-around performance.

Jasmyn Hale shined in her season debut, scoring a career-high 23 points on 9-of-11 shooting, including a perfect 5-for-5 from three-point range. Hale scored in every quarter and was particularly dominant in the second half, recording 20 of her points after halftime. Her outside shooting helped the Seahawks maintain control each time Reinhardt threatened to close the gap.

The opening quarter saw both teams trade baskets, ending in a 14–14 tie after ten minutes of play. Keiser began to find its rhythm in the second quarter, using strong defensive pressure and efficient ball movement to build momentum. Caidyn Cannon's free throws gave Keiser an eight-point lead heading into halftime, 34–26.

Coming out of the break, the Seahawks built on that energy with one of their most complete quarters of the night. Hale connected on bayer another three pointer early in the third to stretch the lead into double figures, while Cannon added a fast-break layup following a steal to push the margin to 14. Avrie Schmidt contributed a pair of midrange jumpers during a 20–12 quarter for Keiser, as the Seahawks extended their advantage to 54–38 heading into the final frame—their largest lead of the night reaching 16 points with just under two minutes remaining in the third.

Reinhardt found some late rhythm in the fourth quarter, cutting the deficit to single digits behind a few timely buckets from I'ziah McCutch, who finished with 17 points for the Eagles. However, Keiser's composure down the stretch proved key. Schmidt hit a smooth jumper to slow Reinhardt's run, and Hale buried her fifth three-pointer of the night with just over a minute to play to put the game out of reach.

Cannon finished with 15 points, seven rebounds, and four steals in an all-around effort, while Schmidt added 10 points on 5-of-11 shooting. Carolina de Domingo was a steady presence inside, grabbing eight rebounds, dishing out five assists, and blocking two shots.

As a team, Keiser shot 44.1 percent from the field and 36.8 percent from beyond the arc while holding Reinhardt to 40.7 percent shooting. The Seahawks won the rebounding battle 35–27 and recorded 17 assists on 26 made field goals.
