The top-ranked Keiser women's soccer team battled No. 18 SCAD Savannah to a 1–1 draw on Saturday morning at Arrigo-Vecellio Field. Despite controlling possession and outshooting the Bees 16–7, the Seahawks were unable to find a late winner as the two nationally ranked programs split points in Sun Conference play. The Seahawks struck early when Emilia Nilsson netted her third goal of the season in the 10th minute, finishing off an assist from Maria Vilhena to give Keiser the 1–0 advantage. Late in the game, a free kick by the Bees was cleared out of the box by Keiser but fell to the foot of Emily Lau who struck the ball into the net to tie the game.

The Seahawks will be back in action on Wednesday, October 22, when they travel to play Warner. Kickoff from the Royals Soccer Field in Lake Wales, Fla. is set for 7:00 p.m.

  • In the 24th minute, Haley Miller headed a ball down to Vilhena in the box, but she could not get the full power behind her shot, and it would be saved
  • A late free kick conceded by the Seahawks set up SCAD for a long ball into the box that was headed away, but Emily Lau was there to blast it from outside the box into the top right corner of the netting
  • Keiser would have opportunities late, with Lauren Riley and Nilsson each getting good looks from inside the box, but Saga Bryntesson came up with the saves each time
