Softball Splits Doubleheader at Palm Beach Atlantic

Keiser Softball opened their 2025 season today with a split doubleheader at NCAA Division II Palm Beach Atlantic. The Seahawks were able to rally and win the first game in extra innings, and fell by three runs in the second game.

Seahawk Hurlers
  • Mackenzie Masternak got the start, and had a strong showing in her first outing as a Seahawk (115 pitches)
  • Lizzy Small pitched one inning in relief, and came away with the save (13 pitches)

  • The Seahawks were able to come out on top in game one thanks to timely hitting late in the game, and a strong pitching performance by Mackenzie Masternak

  • PBA took the lead on an RBI single

  • Trailing by one with two outs on the board, things were looking bleak for Keiser but Bridget Dunham was able to extend the game with a single to left field
  • Macy Schaaf took advantage of the opportunity when she smacked a triple to the centerfield wall that allowed Dunham to score the tying run

  • After shutting down the Sailfish in the bottom of the seventh, Keiser had an opportunity to reclaim the lead in extra innings
  • KU did just that thanks to another hit by Czajkowski, Trinity Rohrer being hit by a pitch, and Kelsey Ganci getting an RBI fielder's choice
