The No. 2 ranked Keiser University men's tennis team will open their season with a return to Overland Park, Kansas this weekend for the ITA NAIA National Men's Team Indoor Championship beginning Friday, January 31, and concluding on Sunday, February 2.
About the Seahawks
- No. 3 Shaheed Alam comes into the spring with the highest ranking on the team after winning the ITA Fall Regional Tournament
- The Seahawks will have three newcomers on the roster in freshmen Felipe Rivadeneira and Gilad Tamar along with transfer Mathieu Strauss
- KU will be making their return to the tournament after winning the inaugural indoor championship in 2023
- Keiser is one of eight teams participating in the tournament with each of the top seven teams in the NAIA Coaches Preseason Poll receiving an invite to the tournament
Seahawks Against the Opponent
Postseason Record: Keiser is 26-17 all-time in NAIA Postseason play, 3-0 at the Team Indoor Championship
Scouting the Field: No. 1 Georgia Gwinnett enters the tournament as the top seed and will face No. 8 William Woods who received an automatic bid as the host team. The Seahawks hold a combined record of 11-11 going into the tournament. KU will open the tournament with No. 9 University of Northwestern Ohio on Friday. The Seahawks hold a 1-1 record against the Racers including a win indoors in 2023. If they were to advance, Keiser holds an all-time record of 6-3 against their two possible second-round opponents, No. 5 Tennessee Wesleyan and No. 14 Lindsey Wilson.
