Keiser softball dropped the conference series opening game to Warner Friday afternoon at Alumni Field. The Seahawks fell 1-0 in a defensive battle in West Palm Beach. With the loss, the Seahawks are now 31-12, 9-7 overall.

• Brunella Beteta Vilchez pitched the entire game, striking out three batters. (80 pitches). 

• Lizzy Small and Tes DeBono each hit a double.
• DeBono went 2-3.
• Bridget Dunham went 2-2 with two singles. 

• The Seahawks battled Warner in pitcher's duel, leaving six runners on base in what was ultimately a scoreless effort.

• The Seahawks were able to get Bridget Dunham and Macy Schaaf on base, but three consecutive outs left them stranded.

• The Royals scored the lone run of the day on a sacrifice fly.

• Keiser got a lead-off double from Lizzy Small, but after a groundout, the scoring opportunity was denied by a Warner double play.

• KU had their final chance to tie the game, but Royals pitcher Allie Hughes retired the Seahawks one-two-three to end the game. 

The Seahawks will play a doubleheader versus Warner tomorrow at 12:00 p.m. to decide the series.
