No. 3 Keiser men's tennis swept their second consecutive Division I opponent on Thursday afternoon, defeating Saint Joseph's at the USTA Tennis Campus in Orlando, Fla., 4-0. The match was played with a clinch-clinch format, with Keiser taking the doubles on courts two and three before taking courts five, four, and one in singles.
- Cervinka quickly handled his opponent on court five, winning 6-0, 6-1 to put the Seahawks ahead 2-0.
- No. 6 Alam was next through singles with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Papadopoulos, 6-0, 6-2.
- No. 5 El Mesbahi would get the clinching point on court one over Agbo, winning 6-4, 6-2.Â
- Keiser was ahead on two of the remaining courts with No. 27 Liljekvist just one game from finishing his match.
"The young men played better today than yesterday," said Head Coach
Robert McAdoo. "They were sharper and played with great intent and purpose. As a coach, I am very pleased. My guys are looking stronger every day!"
The Seahawks will have some time off before facing another top-5 Division II team in University of Indianapolis on March 17 at the USTA Tennis Campus in Orlando, Fla. First serve is currently set for 10:00 a.m.
