No. 3 Keiser men's tennis earned a hard-fought Sun Conference win on Saturday afternoon over No. 6 Southeastern, 4-2. The Seahawks cruised through doubles with dominant wins on courts one and two. In singles, the Fire began to fight back with a couple of wins, but Keiser was able to hold them off with wins on courts one, three, and four.

  • No. 10 Alam took the first point for Keiser on court four with a 6-1, 6-2 win.
  • Southeastern followed with two wins on courts two and six to tie the match at 2-2.
  • Fighting off a match point in the third set, Liljekvist rallied for an important 2-6, 6-2, 7-6(7) win on court three.
  • No. 5 El Mesbahi was able to clinch the match for the Seahawks, defeating No. 15 Pessoa, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.
  • Cervina was leading Fernandez 7-6(6), 3-6, 4-3 when the match was clinched.

Coach's Corner

"Good team win today," said Head Coach Robert McAdoo. "Although we had a couple of disappointing losses in singles, I'm glad we were finally able to play a top-10 team and come out with the win. Looking forward to playing another top-10 team on Monday."
