The Keiser flag football team took down the Night Hawks of Thomas in their home opener this afternoon in a heavy defensive battle. The only scoring of the game took place in the second quarter of the game with a 10-yard touchdown for
Chloe Griffin. Defensively, the Seahawks recorded three interceptions including two from junior linebacker
Sydney Woodman.
The Seahawks move to a 6-1 record and 3-0 in SUN conference play.
Keiser 0, Thomas 0
- The tone of the game was set in the first quarter when both teams were turned over on downs.
- The Seahawks only had one opportunity to score, but on fourth and 15, Brenna Ramirez went on to punt.
- With the help of heavy defense, Keiser held Thomas scoreless with two pass breakups.
Keiser 6, Thomas 0
- The Seahawks got started with back-to-back complete passes from Jazmin Rhoden to Kennedy Foster for a total of 13 yards.
- Rhoden went on to rush for 10 yards to inch Keiser to their first and only touchdown of the day.
- Rhoden connected with sophomore Chloe Griffin for a 10-yard touchdown to get the Seahawks on the board.
- The senior quarterback passed to Brenna Ramirez for the PAT but a penalty was called for pass interfering resulting in no play.
- The second PAT attempt from Rhoden was no good leaving the Seahawks with a 6-0 lead.
- To end the second quarter, Ashlea Klam intercepted a pass from Night Hawks quarterback Alexa Wilson going for 35 yards, passing to Kennedy Foster who ran for three yards and Emma Wagenman for 17-yards before the tackle occurred from Wilson.

- The Seahawks continued their impressive defense as Sydney Woodman went up for an interception with nine yards handing it to Foster for another nine and Sophia Caprio for four yards when Night Hawks quarterback Alexa Wilson came up for the tackle.
- A total of eight passes were completed between the two squads but neither team could get on the board.

- Keiser started the quarter with the ball but would be turned over on downs.
- Reigning SUN Defensive Player of the Week Woodman went on to make her presence known making her second interception of the afternoon giving the Seahawks possession.
- With three incomplete passes, Melina Trinidad came up to punt for the Seahawks for 26 yards.
- The game would end on the fourth drive with Rhoden taking a knee.
Keiser will host Florida Memorial this Thursday, March 28. Game time is set for 3:00 pm at the Keiser Multi-Purpose Field.
