The Keiser women's basketball team was eliminated from the Sun Conference Tournament, falling to the Ave Maria Gyrenes, 64-56, in Friday's semifinal contest.
Despite shooting just 17.2 percent (5-of-29) in the first half, the Seahawks went on a 21-0 run in the third quarter to pull within one. However, AMU used an 11-4 run in the final 1:52 to come away with the victory.
Elliana Schaefer led all Seahawks with 17 points followed by
Elise Ellison, who added 10. Ellison also led the team in rebounding with eight.
Following an
Elliana Schaefer 3-pointer pulled Keiser within one, 53-52, the Gyrenes out-scored the Seahawks, 11-4, in the final 1:52 to come away with the victory.
