No. 3 Keiser men's tennis opened the Sun Conference season with a dominant win over No. 14 St. Thomas on Wednesday afternoon in Boca Raton, Fla. The Seahawks took the doubles point with wins on courts one and three before clinching the match in singles on courts one, two, and three.
- Kilani brought the score to 2-0 on court two with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Miehe.
- No. 27 Liljekvist followed on court three, winning 6-4, 6-1 to make it 3-0 for KU.
- It was a race between No. 5 El Mesbahi and No. 6 Alam for the final point with El Mesbahi clinching the match on court one over Yanine, 6-0, 6-2.
- Alam was up 6-0, 5-1 on court four while Cervinka was also ahead in the second set, 6-4, 2-1.
"Great win today against a top-15 team," said Head Coach
Robert McAdoo. "The young men made it look easy. They started with tons of energy in doubles and were extremely focused in our singles matches. We will continue to strive for greatness."
Keiser will have a week before facing Division I, Howard University on March 6 in Cocoa, Fla. First serve from Cocoa, Fla. is set for 2:00 p.m.
