No. 3 Keiser men's tennis was out to prove a point on Wednesday afternoon and did just that against Palm Beach Atlantic, winning 7-0. The Seahawks started strong in doubles before carrying the momentum of the matches and some Keiser fans that made the trip to make a clean sweep in singles.
- No. 6 Alam breezed through his match on court four, winning 6-1, 6-0.
- Cervinka followed on court five for his first Keiser win, defeating Fernandez 6-2, 6-3.
- Santos clinched the match on court six with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Joseph Ramirez.
- No. 5 El Mesbahi and Kilani would follow with wins on courts one and two to bring the match score to 6-0.
- All eyes turned to court three where No. 27 Liljekvist found himself down in the set two tiebreaker, 6-1. He would fight all the way back to win the tiebreak 10-8, followed by a 10-8 super tiebreak to clinch the 7-0 sweep.
"Great to get a win after a long layoff," said Head Coach
Robert McAdoo. "The young men started off extremely fast in doubles and maintained high energy throughout the entirety of the match. We are all enjoying the process of becoming the best we can be."
Keiser will have a quick turnaround with their first Sun Conference opponent in No. 13 St. Thomas on Wednesday, February 28. First serve from Patch Reef Park in Boca Raton, Fla. is set for 2:00 p.m.
