Keiser softball swept a home doubleheader today in dominant fashion against New College of Florida. The Seahawks won the first game 8-0 via run rule, and took the second game 8-2.Â

- Lizzy Small pitched the first five innings and got the win, striking out two batters. (56 pitches)
- Alexa Michon made her collegiate debut in the final inning, picking up a strikeout and completing the shutout. (20 pitches)

Keiser was sparked by a
Lizzy Small solo homer in the bottom of the fourth, and cruised for the rest of the game.Â

- After four scoreless innings, Lizzy Small whacked a solo home run over the left field wall.
- This was the first Keiser home run of the John Pryor era to clear the fence at Alumni Field.Â

- After forcing the Mighty Banyans to go down in order at the top of the inning, the Seahawks went to bat up by one.
- Lacee Travens drew a lead-off walk, and was then brought home by an Alex Perez RBI double.Â
- Bridget Dunham got on base with a single.Â
- Macy Schaaf reached on an NCF error, and Alex Perez scored on the play.Â
- Lizzy Small later smashed a triple to center field, bringing home Dunham and Schaaf.Â
- Genesis Iglesias hit an RBI single to score pinch runner Abby Arend.Â
- Molly Reid hit an RBI double to score Iglesias, but was thrown out trying for third.Â

- The Mighty Banyans loaded the bases in the top of the inning, but the Seahawk infield held firm and prevented any runs from scoring.Â
- Lacee Travens got on base with an error by the NCF second baseman.
- Alex Perez hit her second double of the day to bring Travens around to third.
- After Bridget Dunham drew a walk, Macy Schaaf walked off the game with a sacrifice fly that brought Travens home.Â

- Brunella Beteta Vilchez had another solid outing, and picked up the win with three shutout innings. (34 pitches)
- Maggie Miller pitched 1.1 innings, with no runs allowed. (23 pitches)
- Addison Fyles made an appearance and faced four batters. (16 pitches)
- Alexa Michon pitched the final 2.2 innings, and faced 11 batters. (29 pitches)
- The 'Hawks played a balanced game and were able to build and keep a strong lead.

- After the Mighty Banyans were set down in order to begin the game, Macy Schaaf got on base with a single and stole two bases to advance to third.
- Lizzy Small brought Schaaf home with a single through the right side.Â

- After Beteta Vilchez once again got the Mighty Banyans down in order, Tes DeBono led off the inning with a walk.
- Molly Reid walked and was advanced to second by a sac-bunt from Kelsey Ganci.Â
- Alex Perez scored DeBono and Reid with a 2 RBI single to right center.
- Rylee Miller reached first on an NCF fielding error.Â
- Ashley Bullock brought home Miller and Perez with a 2-RBI single, and advanced to second on the throw.Â
- After Bullock reached third on a wild pitch and Lizzy Small and Genesis Iglesias were walked, Bullock scored on another NCF wild pitch.Â

- After 2.5Â innings without any scoring, Lana Hampson hit a lead-off single.Â
- A wild pitch and a fielding error brought Hampson around to third. Â
- Tessa DiPietra logged the first RBI of her career with a sacrifice fly that allowed Hampson to come home.Â

- The Mighty Banyans got their first runs of the day on a 2-RBI single to right center.Â

- The Seahawks got their final run of the day on a wild pitch, with Lizzy Small scoring on the play. Â

- The Keiser defense was able to retire the final three NCF batters in order to bring the Seahawks to 3-1 on the year. Â

The Seahawks will host a doubleheader this Tuesday versus NCAA DII Lynn University. First pitch of game one is set for 1:00 p.m.
