Keiser men's basketball got off to a slow start in New Orleans against the Southern University of New Orleans Knights but picked up the energy early in the second half leading to another dominant victory. The Seahawks had five players in double figures with Quamar Greshman leading the scoring at 17 points on the evening. Just behind him was
Tyreon Payne with 14 points and a team-best three steals, followed by
Cameron Stitt,
Vincent Miszkiewicz, and
Jonathan Paul, who each had 10. The rebounding matchup of the night went to Miszkiewicz who out-dueled the top rebounder in the nation, Jamal Gibson, 15 to 12.
The Seahawks will stay in New Orleans for a couple more days and play Loyola (La.) on Saturday, December 7. Tip-off from the Den is set for 2:00 p.m. CST.
The Seahawks started the second half on fire, extending their four-point lead to 17 in the first five minutes of the second period.
Keiser 37, SUNO 33
- It was a slow start for the Seahawks as SUNO led 8-7 before a Jonathan Paul putback layup gave Keiser their first lead of the game at the 14:39 mark
- The Seahawks would stretch their lead to six with just under nine minutes to play as Paul collected his eighth point of the night and Tyreon Payne knocked down a jumper to make it 22-16
- KU would go on a short run before the Knights countered with a three to make it a three-point game with under five minutes to play in the half
- Quamar Gresham would sink a pair of threes before the break and Keiser would take a four-point lead into halftime
Keiser 83, SUNO 66
- The start of the second half was a different story as the Seahawks went 8-of-12 to begin the half and outscored the Knights 16-3, leading 53-36
- The game would slow down over the next few minutes with Cameron Stitt recording his 10th point of the evening to make it 57-40 with 11:26 remaining
- It was even over the next few minutes before Gresham got going again with consecutive baskets to put the Seahawks up 75-51
- Keiser would cruise to the end of the game, taking the 83-66 win on the road

- Keiser continues their hot start, moving to 7-1 on the year
- KU is now 2-0 on the road this season
- The Seahawks are outscoring opponents by a margin of 22.4 points per game
- Gresham led Keiser in scoring with 17 points on the night; he is the fifth different leading scorer for KU in eight games
- It was the first double-digit scoring night for Gresham since joining the Seahawks
- Miszkiewicz logged another double-double with 10 points and a game-high 15 rebounds
- Sirmans continues to distribute to all teammates as he logged eight assists in the game
